Robots have become a part of our lives in more ways than we can possibly imagine, or care to believe. As artificial intelligence (AI) develops, the world will continue to evolve, something that is expected to happen over the next decade. Of course, there are some industries robots will revolutionize more than others and we are listing a few of those today.
Of course, bringing automation and AI into our industries has some major drawbacks. For example, in developed countries robotics will cut down jobs by as much as 40-45%, a number which significantly lower in developing countries between 15-25%. Nonetheless, it is bound to have a major impact on the economy as we know it. Enjoy our list of industries robots will revolutionize within the next ten years.
The Auto Industry
The first on our list of industries robots will revolutionize is the auto industry, especially when the driverless cars hit it big in the world market. By 2025, it is estimated that 10% cars around the world will be completely autonomous. The adoption rate will be low since they will cost an average of $10,000 more than a regular car.
When we say financial industry, we mean the world of trading. It has more to do with the development of AI. It is expected that robot advisors will replace traders and make decisions for them. By 2020, a report estimates that over $2.2 trillion in investments will come from robotic decisions, in that computers with sophisticated AI will be able to learn the markets. Bad news for retails investors, institutional traders set to gain the most.
In the future, robots will be helping with almost everything in the hospitals starting from helping the patients especially elderly, to performing diagnoses, and critical surgeries. In year 2000, there were over 1,000 surgeries performed in assistance by robots. The number grew to 570,000 by 2014 and in the next decade the number may increase over 10 times. Robots will also make up for the shortage of medical workers.
Agriculture is another industry that is all set to benefit massively with robots. There are possibilities in driverless tractors (tractor drones), drones, and milk bots etc. Farms by 2025 will employ increased use of AI in order to analyze and optimize crop output.
Last on our list of industries robots will revolutionize is the service industry. Soon, robots will be able to take care of jobs that are dangerous, risky, and/or repetitive. There are already robots that are charged with cleaning your house a little bit like Roomba that roams around the house vacuuming. Soon there will be robots that will able to wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean windows, and efficiently take care of other household chores.
