Salman Ahmed, the guitarist of once famous band ‘Junoon’, has achieved new heights. Salman Ahmed is one of the more brilliant guitarists and composers one can find in Pakistan, and he continues to stun everyone with whatever it is that he decides to do. This time around, it is a composition for the soundtrack of an HBO movie. Salman Ahmed went solo after the band broke up, and though he didn’t really quite hit it with singing, he has been engaged in several other projects and that has turned out to be absolutely amazing for him.
The soundtrack is for an HBO movie called ‘Open your Eyes’. He collaborated with Peter Gabriel to compose this tune. Peter Gabriel is an English singer, musician, and song-writer. Not only did he compose the soundtrack, he did a duet with Gabriel for the movie. In other news, as retrieved from Salman Ahmed’s Twitter account, it would seem that the upcoming HBO movie has already qualified for Oscar consideration.
‘Open your Eyes’ is based on the stories of people who suffer from eye cataract. Owing to the disease these people are rendered incapable of seeing ever. However, in the movie, a group of young people show up to provide relief and rescue to these people. As far as Salman Ahmed is concerned, he has been behind the scenes when it comes to the music industry, but this breakthrough is sure to provide him with the boost he needs. He is definitely going to claim so international fame, and if that’s not all, the movie will be considered for an Oscar nominations. Oscars are so absolutely prestigious that even a nomination is dream-come-true.
As such, the achievement is spectacular. Pakistani entertainment industry needs to get international recognition, and significantly, especially considering the fact that the entire Pakistani cinema is undergoing some serious overhaul. We wish Salman all the best in his future endeavors, and hope his film does well in the Oscars. You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ for more updates.
