Pakistan recently dispatched a legal reference to Iran seeking her help in investigation of RAW activities within Pakistan. Given that the arrested RAW agent entered Pakistan via Iran, it would seem appropriate for Iran to help investigate. According to several sources, the letter to Iran comprised six sections including a request for the provision of information regarding the activities of detained RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav during his stay in the country. Pakistan further requested Iran to handover another undercover agent operating in Iran that goes by the name Rakesh aka Rizwan. He is reportedly working at Iran’s Chabahar port as a businessman was responsible to provide backup to Yadav.
Furthermore, the letter dispatched to the Iranian authorities requested help and support in identification of the large local network of Indian agents and their activities within Iran since they posed a direct threat to Pakistan, knowledge that was only recently revealed. Yadav made his way into Pakistan via Iran therefore, the government believes that the Iranian authorities should be involved in any investigations into Yadav and RAW.
Reportedly, the matter of the arrest of the Indian agent kulbhushan Yadav was also raised in a recent meeting between the Interior Ministers of Iran and Pakistan, upon which the Iranian Home Minister asked of the Pakistani counterpart to send an official reference to Tehran regarding the matter. He further stated that Iran will only respond to Pakistan’s requests regarding RAW’s presence at the Iranian Chabahar port if Islamabad were to formally address the issue.
Kulbhushan Yadav, a RAW agent, was recently arrested from Balochistan, a province in Pakistan that borders with Iran. Upon interrogation, he revealed that he entered Pakistan via Iran and was involved in several sabotage activities in Karachi and Balochistan. You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ for more updates.
