Earlier today we were discussing President Obama securing votes for Nuclear deal with Iran to stay intact while talking about Iran’s nuclear deal and its impact on Pakistan. We mentioned that President Obama might just be one vote away from making sure the deal stays intact. According to the latest reports, President Obama has secured enough votes to protect the Nuclear deal with Iran which would eventually mean lifting of sanctions imposed on the country by US, EU and UN.
President Obama needed 67 votes for in order to override any veto that may be imposed on the deal and he has managed to gain those votes. This nuclear deal with Iran will render the country incapable of producing nuclear weapons however lifting of sanctions is a good enough especially if you consider the implications for Pakistan.
As far as the nuclear deal with Iran goes, the game is far from over. There will be constant attacks from the Republicans against the deal. Just last week, a key disapproval resolution failed to pass. The resolution needed a total of 60 votes to pass, however the Republicans could not manage that. You can read more about the reason by the Republicans are so against this nuclear deal with Iran here.
