Plenty of Pakistani stars have gone across the border to India in order to perform various roles in Bollywood. However, none such star has come across the other way. That will probably change soon thanks to Shoaib Mansoor. According to reports, Kareena Kapoor Khan (Khan because she is married to Saif Ali Khan) has been offered a role in an upcoming movie by Shoaib Mansoor. Shoaib Mansoor is exceptionally brilliant and quite famous at what he does. In the context of revolutionizing the film industry in Pakistan, Shoaib Mansoor has come up with projects such as Khuda Ke Liye, and Bol. Kareena Kapoor will be the first actor from Bollywood to ever perform in a Pakistani movie if this pans out. It’s worth mentioning here that Kareena Kapoor is a major superstar across the border in India.
In many of her interviews, Kareena Kapoor has mentioned how big of a fan she is of Shoaib Mansoor. She also expressed her desire to work in one of his films. In one such interview, she was reported to have said,
I really want to work with him. He has made some fantastic content driven films and is a wonderful filmmaker.
According to various reports in the Indian media, Kareena Kapoor desired to step out of her comfort zone to act. She has made a huge fan base for herself in India, she’s been with all the major Khans of the Indian film industry (she even married one of them), so the likely place out of her comfort zone, and perhaps the easiest would be Pakistan. At any rate, Kareena Kapoor in a Pakistani film, directed and possibly produced by Shoaib Mansoor, should be an interesting project. At this point in time, this is just an offer, and given how Kareena Kapoor has expressed interest across the border, it is quite possible that this eventually happens. However, currently she is busy with other projects. Once they finish, and once it is on paper, we will have more to report on this avenue. So keep tuned, and let’s see what comes next.
