Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) offered him PKR 10 billion to stay mum on Panama case.
He was addressing the participants at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) in Peshawar. The source of this claim is a video clip from said address. He stated that if the government can offer him such a huge sum of money to stay quite on Panama that what would they have offered the organizations investigating him. He also used this claim to establish that the government had massive resources at their disposal,
We will not leave pursuing the PML-N government until the prime minister resigns.
He said that that the apex court’s decision regarding Panama raised awareness amongst people who supported Nawaz in the past and that they have now come face to face with reality. Imran said that through the Panama proceedings, Nawaz presented fake evidence in the Supreme Court. He pointed out that that Nawaz Shairf had no further evidence to prove he was innocent and PTI can use this to build pressure on the investigation authorities.
Imran Khan also believes that Nawaz Sharif is between a rock and a hard place, and so he should resign as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Interestingly, this claim, while the verdict for Panama was being considered, would have had a major impact.
Imran Khan said that the slogan Go, Nawaz Go will become the second national anthem in PTI’s rally on Friday. Chairman PTI announced his party’s intention to hold a rally in Islamabad on the 28th April, 2017 to “demand Nawaz Sharif’s resignation” last week.
